A tribute to the COVID 19 warriors

Year 2020 started like any other new year with so many expectations, ambitions and wishes for everyone.Little did we all know that something worst was awaiting us..Yes it's the dreadful Corona virus or the COVID 19.It all started in China where many people started losing their lives because of  Corona.Slowly it spread to Italy and then across the world. Around March it hit India and from 29th March India was under complete lock down. Stay Safe, Stay at home are the trending words from then on."Don't venture out until emergency.Even if you go out maintain social distancing, wear masks and gloves, keep 1 meter distance" are some of the frequently used words we hear.Only essential services like groceries, hospitals started functioning.School, colleges, offices etc are shut down since then. ”Online” classes and “work from home” became popular. This being the new normal routine for most of us it is not so for doctors, nurses, sanitation workers, policemen, fire station workers and es

My experience of stepping out of house for the first time after lockdown!!

It has been more than two months since I stepped out of the house. My husband usually goes once in a week to buy vegetables, provisions and other essentials and he has been extremely cautious while going out and after coming back.He wears masks and gloves and tries to go early say around 7.30 am in order to finish shopping before it gets crowded. Also, immediately after coming home he cleans the items bought and takes a bath. I decided to go with him on a weekend(May 16th) as we had to buy quite a lot of things (provisions and vegetables). It was around 8.30 am. Our purchases were centered around the mada streets which is one of the busiest street in Mylapore(located in Chennai). I was really at loss of words to see hardly ten people on the mada street which otherwise would be so crowded that there will be hardly place to walk freely.Almost all the shopkeepers in the shops that were opened (since only few of the shops were opened then) had worn masks and so did the people who came to buy

My thoughts on Indian Government handling COVID 2019

# Covid2019   # India   # proudIndian   # stayhome   # staysafe Hello everyone, hope everyone is staying at home safely..In the recent times i see a lot of memes, messages, videos etc blaming the Government's inability to tackle the situation.. So just wanted to pour my heart out.. 1)First of all its easier said than done, those people who blame the Government (be it central or state)please tell how better will you deal with this situation had you dealt with it. 2)With a population of 1.37 billion,29 states each of which having a state government how else will they control it 3)If you see the virus transmission rates in other countries we are doing an excellent Job..Hats off to the governance, to all the people who serve the nation tirelessly in this hour of dismay from doctors,to policemen,to workers who clean the roads for our safety,to fire servicemen ,to volunteers and so on. Its indeed an excellent team effort!! 4)All we, as common people have been asked to do is to

Its school admission time in Chennai!!!!

As parents we might have to experience many stressful moments.. My blog here is about the first stressful phase we will be facing as parents!!! The anxiety started from the month of December 2013..  Guess for what??? LKG admissions for our three year old son Srivishnu !!! For many of the schools  the cut off for birthdate was September 30 th so Srivishnu didn’t have the eligibility even to apply,as he was October  born. We had to planned to buy application forms in almost all the CBSE schools possible in AnnaNagar and  Mylapore area.  (Many might question why only CBSE schools???Considering that both me and my husband studied at Matriculation we are not against this board of education. But with time the Government keeps changing and so is the syllabus with new system like Samacheerkalvi and so on.We wanted to ensure that we give a stable education to our son.So we decided to get application forms from CBSE schools) So we started the process searching for CBSE du
