A tribute to the COVID 19 warriors

Year 2020 started like any other new year with so many expectations, ambitions and wishes for everyone.Little did we all know that something worst was awaiting us..Yes it's the dreadful Corona virus or the COVID 19.It all started in China where many people started losing their lives because of  Corona.Slowly it spread to Italy and then across the world.

Around March it hit India and from 29th March India was under complete lock down. Stay Safe, Stay at home are the trending words from then on."Don't venture out until emergency.Even if you go out maintain social distancing, wear masks and gloves, keep 1 meter distance" are some of the frequently used words we hear.Only essential services like groceries, hospitals started functioning.School, colleges, offices etc are shut down since then.

”Online” classes and “work from home” became popular. This being the new normal routine for most of us it is not so for doctors, nurses, sanitation workers, policemen, fire station workers and essential items vendors. They have to everyday take care of themselves by wearing gloves and mask while attending to the daily needs of the people.Every single day they risk their lives for the well being of others. It is because of them we are safe and the environment around us is clean. They are being honored across the world by their respective Government. In India too we honored them by clapping our hands, ringing the bells, lighting the flame all over India at the same time etc.Flowers were being dropped over the hospitals in helicopters to honor their services.

It's so pathetic that these people who have served us all these months are being contracted with the virus now..In fact many of them are losing their lives. It is also spreading to their families. What have they done to deserve this?? It’s because of them we are healthy today. But we don’t respect the life lost. All of us know of the incident where a doctor was denied cremation by the local people just because he died of corona.Let us all be human in our actions as well.We will try to stay at home until or otherwise it's absolutely necessary and even if we go out, take proper precautions.

Having said all these, there are unsung heroes in each of our family who definitely need appreciation with the mothers/wives busy in the kitchen and other household work all through the day and fathers/husbands going out with all precautions to buy essentials.

A big salute to all these COVID warriors!!
